Popular Nigerian comedian Akpororo in the wake of the controversial extrajudicial killing of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi, has called on the Police Force to pick the logistics company involved in delivering a suspicious parcel containing a firearm to face questioning.
In a widely circulated video, Akpororo questioned the role of the logistics firm that received the gun package in Sapele and delivered it to Uvwie.
He argued that reputable logistics companies routinely inspect and verify suspicious or heavy parcels before waybilling and sealing them for onward delivery. The comedian demanded that the staff who handled and cleared the package be brought forward for questioning to establish full accountability across the supply chain.

The incident occurred on April 26, 2026, at the Effurun Main Park (Benin Motor Park) along the Warri-Sapele Expressway in Uvwie Local Government Area. Ogidi was apprehended by park officials after suspicion arose over a waybilled parcel he had gone to collect on behalf of a friend from Sapele. Upon inspection, the package was found to contain a Beretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition.

Park operators restrained Ogidi and alerted the police from the Effurun Area Command. A team led by ASP Nuhu Usman, popularly known as Ogbegbe, responded. A viral video that has since caused public outrage shows the handcuffed and defenceless suspect sitting on the ground, pleading for his life and offering to lead officers to his friend in Sapele. Despite being restrained, ASP Usman allegedly shot him at close range in violation of police regulations.
The Delta State Police Command swiftly condemned the act as “extra-judicial killing,” arrested ASP Usman and members of his team, and transferred them to Force Headquarters in Abuja for disciplinary action and possible prosecution for murder.
Ogidi reportedly told officers he was innocently sent by a friend and had no prior knowledge of the parcel’s contents. His family has also spoken out, with reports indicating this is not the first son they have lost in controversial circumstances involving police.
