Nigerian comedian I Go Save has lashed out at netizens rejoicing over the cancellation of Burna Boy’s shows, calling their actions “witchcraft”.

The backlash follows a viral video of Burna Boy’s ejecting a sleeping fan, Chaltu Jateny, from his Denver concert. The fan was reportedly grieving the loss of her daughter’s father and had fallen asleep. Burna Boy asked her to leave, saying he only wants “supporters who buy my tickets,” which sparked widespread criticism.

In a statement, I Go Save defended Burna Boy, saying, “Burna Boy’s concert kick out might be wrong or right depending on the side you stand on. But same sinners pushing and celebrating a man’s source of daily bread cancellation is witchcraft. I thought you pastors teach about forgiveness every Sunday. The fact that you hate somebody doesn’t stop God’s blessings. Meanwhile, you still celebrate your political oppressors. This generation and bad belle are five and six.”

As reported by eelive.ng, the backlash led to several US tour dates being cancelled, citing low ticket sales. The Grammy award singer apologised during a Texas performance, saying, “I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced no one is buying. So please I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue.”
