Popular Nollywood power couple Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe Oyebade-Adedimeji known as Mo’Bimpe, have been at the centre of a social media storm following the arrival of their triplets.

While the news of their bundles of joy sparked nationwide celebration, a growing wave of concern has emerged regarding the number of visitors allowed to handle the fragile newborns.

A social media user on X,  posting under the handle Big Uncle (@Usmanashafe), issued a stern public advisory to the couple, urging them to restrict guests from carrying the infants.

The critic’s message, shared alongside photos of visitors holding the triplets, did not mince words. He emphasised that infants are still adapting to the world and possess delicate immune systems.

“Somebody should quickly advise Lateef and Bimpe to stop allowing people to carry their babies, please, the post began. It continued with a more graphic warning about hygiene

“The truth is a lot of you are carrying bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, and even viruses in your hands. Only God knows what and where some of you have inserted your hands before you get there,” he wrote.

The post further suggested that visitors should be content with viewing the babies from a distance rather than insisting on physical contact. The X user noted that the newborns are not “museum items” to be touched for the sake of feeling, adding that a visit is still valid even if the guest does not bring the children.

If you cannot look and admire them in their baby cot, then get out,” the post concluded.

The photos accompanying the plea show various individuals cradling the babies in a home setting. While many fans defended the couple’s right to share their joy with loved ones, others echoed the sentiment that “soapy hands” and external germs pose a significant risk to triplets, who are often born with lower birth weights and more sensitive respiratory systems.

They are babies that are still adapting to the new world; they are fragile,” the concerned fan added.
