Coronavirus: Namaste Wahala Release Postponed

The release of Namaste Wahala, first movie collaboration between Bollywood and Nollywood, has been postponed until October 2020.

The film was originally supposed to be released on April 10, 2020. However, the spread of coronavirus has led to the disruption of the release calendar.

Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, the director of Namaste Wahala made the announcement on Instagram.

According to the first-time director, the decision to postpone the release was imperative due to threats posed by the coronavirus crisis across the globe.

The highly anticipated romantic comedy is a love story that cuts across two different cultures: Indian and Nigerian. It stars Ini-Dima Okojie, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Joke Silva, RIchard Mofe Damijo and Segal Sujata.

Other Nigerian stars in the movie include Broda Shaggi, BBNaija’s Frodd, Osas Ighodaro, and many others.

However, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, coronavirus disruption has closed movie theatres in China and has reached the British entertainment industry. It has also caused widespread headaches for other Hollywood productions. 92 hollywood movies have been halted due to the virus (Read Here).

In addition, Netflix has paused production for Stranger Things season 4, Grace & FrankieThe Prom and other film and TV shows that were in the development process in the U.S. and Canada when COVID-19 started spreading through the two countries.
