COVID-19: Let People Know When You’re Infected- Mary Njoku

Nollywood actress and movie producer, Mary Njoku, has urged Africans to make it a point of duty to reveal their COVID-19 status when infected with the virus.

She stated this via her  social media page on Monday stressing the need to create more awareness about the virus to save others.

“Dear Africans, COVID-19 is not a family secret. If you’re infected, telling everyone you have been in contact with will not reduce your chances of getting better. God bless you as you do so,” she wrote.

“Coronavirus isn’t spiritual, it is beyond your village people. So don’t be afraid to let people know you had or still have it.
Save lives!”

Her comment comes barely three months after her husband and CEO of Iroko TV, Jason Njoku, was discharged from the hospital after contracting the virus.

Last year, her mother-in-law also tested positive to COVID-19 in the UK.

“My mum survived Covid19 leaving the hospital 21March. 15wks later she’s still struggling to recover. Not even close to back to ‘normal’. Scarred lungs, shortness of breath etc.” her husband had announced.
