Nigerian businessman and socialite Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has sparked a heated conversation online after comparing the spending habits of people from different South-Eastern states.

In a statement making the rounds on social media, the Imo-born and 49-year-old businessman highlighted what he described as the extravagant lifestyle associated with people from his home State.

He contrasted this with what he portrayed as the more investment-focused approach of people from Anambra, particularly when it comes to spending large sums of money.

Cubana ChiefPriest said: “We have Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, but it’s we Imo that have more doings and the baddest in Igbo land.”

He added: “See what we have done, premium! Look at how we spent $500K on a watch. An Anambra man will rather use that money to buy land.”

His remarks quickly attracted reactions from social media users, with some questioning the value of spending such a huge amount on a luxury watch when the same money could potentially be invested in property or other assets.

One commenter argued that a watch primarily serves the purpose of telling time, while land could provide long-term financial returns.

Another criticised what they described as unnecessary bragging, suggesting that wealth should be demonstrated through meaningful investments rather than extravagant purchases.

Others took a more personal approach, accusing the businessman of making statements that they believed reflected poorly on the Igbo community.

Another user specifically questioned whether Cubana Chief Priest was wealthier than businessman Prince Arthur Eze, while another dismissed his comments as excessive noise.
