Popular Nigerian social commentator Daniel Regha has sparked fresh debate online following his reaction to Asake’s latest album, M$NEY, and the singer’s reported departure from YBNL.
Taking to social media, Regha criticised Asake’s decision to part ways with the label, suggesting that the move may not be yielding the expected results. According to him, the singer’s current musical direction and the reception of M$NEY point towards what he described as a costly mistake.
“Asake parting ways with YBNL is turning out to be a costly mistake,” Regha said.

However, the comment comes at a time when Asake’s new project is gaining attention across streaming platforms.

Despite the criticism, M$NEY continues to perform strongly on digital charts, indicating that the singer still commands a loyal fanbase and considerable influence within the Afrobeats scene.
