Controversial social media critic, Daniel Regha, has sparked intense debate on X after giving a harsh review of Champion’s Arrival, the debut EP by Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz the first son of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
In a strongly worded tweet, Daniel Regha did not hold back on X, stating that “Champz’s music lacks depth, originality, and creative direction. He advised the 14-year-old to focus more on his education, suggesting he engage in school-related activities like quizzes or explore other passions outside of music.
Daniel Regha concluded his review by giving the EP a harsh 1/10 rating, based solely on the instrumentals, and advised that the project should’ve remained unreleased or developed with more songwriting support.
Despite the backlash, Champz’s debut has sparked industry-wide conversations about legacy, expectations, and young talents stepping into the spotlight.

According to Regha, all the songs on the five-track EP fall below industry standards, even by current, declining benchmarks.
Taking to the comment section, some X users didn’t hold back to reply to Daniel Rehga.

Another X user @U_y_a_i wrote: “Let’s be honest expecting a teenager to drop a “perfect” EP on his first try is wild. Music is growth, not perfection from day one. What Tife Balogun did with Champion’s Arrival is exactly what we say we want from young talents, boldness, experimentation, and confidence.”
However, Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz and the first son of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, has come under fire following the release of his debut EP, “Champion’s Arrival”, on November 11th, gaining attention for topping local charts and hitting a million streams.
