Davido Denies Partaking in #EndSARS Protest
Popular singer, Davido has denied partaking in the ongoing #EndSARS protest.
Recall that yesterday (Sunday, October 11, 2020), Davido joined the protesters in Abuja to demand justice for police brutality victims and the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious unit of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Following the demonstration which lasted for several hours, the music star announced that he would be meeting with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu.
Davido’s announcement to meet the police boss attracted applause from members of the public, who praised the singer for his bravery.
But surprisingly to many of his fans and the #EndSARS protesters, the FEM singer said he was not at the protest venue to participate.
“I didn’t protest. I was there to calm them down,” a shivering Davido told Frank Mba, the Spokesperson of the NPF, during the meeting.
