Davido plans comeback performance at World Cup closing ceremony

Nigerian Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is reportedly set to perform at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This was confirmed by Stephen Hung,a Chinese businessman taking to his Instagram story to share the news on Thursday.

He captioned a picture with:

“So happy my bro @Davido confirm he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there.”

The closing ceremony is set to happen on December 18th on Sunday. Davido will be performing the Qatar world cup anthem ‘Hayya Hayya(Happy Together). He will be singing together with Trinidad singer Cardona and Qatar singer Aisha.

This will be the musician’s comeback on stage after months of staying off the public eyes since November.


Recently, in support of the recent happenings to Davido, His fans held a concert in his honour. The heartwarming concert celebrated Davido as an icon displaying their support and love for him. Davido had lost his song, Ifeanyi in November.

Also, Nigerian musician, Kizz Daniel performed at the World cup singing his hit song ‘Buga’ at the World Cup Fans Festival in Qatar.

Patoranking, Nigerian Afrobeat singer, also performed at the World Cup Fan Festival in Al Bidda Park last week.
