Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido allegedly lost his cool today during a tense court session at the High Court in Yaba, Lagos, amid the long-running custody dispute with his ex-partner, Sophia Momodu, over their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
The incident unfolded during cross-examination in the ongoing case, where Davido has been seeking joint custody and unrestricted access to Imade.
Reports from one from lawyer Maruf Muhammed on X (formerly Twitter), described the scene as a dramatic on as the singer reportedly became impatient and agitated under intense questioning from Momodu’s legal team, leading to a disturbance that required intervention from those present.

The post however, quickly went viral with some claiming Momodu won the custody battle after presenting evidence questioning Davido’s fitness as a parent, including alleged past messages or behavior. However, no official court ruling has been confirmed today confirming a final decision on custody.
The case, which dates back to 2024 when Davido filed for joint custody alleging denied access and financial demands, has seen multiple hearings, counter-affidavits, and even referrals to settlement programs in the past.
Momodu has previously cited concerns over Davido’s lifestyle, frequent travels, and other factors in opposing unsupervised or joint arrangements.
The custody battle has been emotionally charged, with both parties emphasizing their commitment to Imade’s well-being amid public scrutiny.
As of now, neither Davido nor Momodu has issued public statements on today’s events, and official court records or judiciary updates are awaited for confirmation.
