Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been caught in a fresh legal storm as lawyers representing Sophia Momodu’s counsel have reportedly slammed him with a ₦1 billion lawsuit over allegations of harassment, cyberbullying, defamation, and related misconduct.
The suit stems from the ongoing high-profile child custody battle between Davido and his baby mama, Sophia Momodu, concerning their daughter Imade.

Tensions escalated following a recent court session in Lagos, where Davido publicly criticised one of the lawyers from Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah. This generated backlash online against the lawyer, which her firm called an orchestrated intimidation and harassment fueled by the singer’s massive social media influence.
Sophia Momodu’s legal team, through Punuka Attorneys, issued strong warnings against Davido and his supporters for alleged threats, bullying, and attempts to undermine judicial proceedings.
Reports indicate the lawsuit demands ₦1 billion in damages, a public retraction of defamatory statements made on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, a formal apology for the harm caused, and immediate cessation of any further harassment, threats, or contact directed at the client, her family, and legal representatives.
Davido, who recently withdrew his custody bid amid the drama, has yet to publicly respond to the latest suit.
