Music star, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has announced the date for the commencement of his maiden Are We African Yet (AWAY) music festival.

The singer, in a recent Instagram post , revealed that the music festival will hold in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, on 18th of November.

Davido said the essence of the festival is to promote the collaboration between African culture and the world.

He wrote “I’m inviting you to come away with me to the maiden edition of A.W.A.Y Festival, a one-day music festival and cultural experience. A.W.A.Y Festival will promote and foster cultural exportation and collaboration between Africa and the world and there is no time like now.

“I can’t wait to have some of my friends from back home share the stage with my friends Stateside as we promote the culture! Tickets go on sale on the 23rd of Sept.”

Furthermore, musicians billed to perform at the festival include Wande Coal, Kizz Daniel, Lojay, BNXN, Pheelz, Oxlade, Focalistic, and Victony.

In July, Davido announced his intention to start reality tv shows.

He told Rolling Stone “It’ll probably be a little pre, and have ’10 years later’ type stuff. Something like that. Still thinking. I want to own a big media house: shoot movies, documentaries, game shows, cooking shows, reality TV.”

Also speaking on DaBaby’s infamous offensive spiel at Rolling Loud Miami in 2021, the singer said “I spoke to him about it too. I’ve been in situations where I’ve said the wrong things and then really understand what I said like two days later.

“I feel like everybody makes mistakes. I’m not approving or saying what he said was right, but I know sometimes being on stage, you might get carried away. We did speak about it.

“I personally don’t (think that is reflective of his character) because I know him personally. I haven’t seen him being violent or stuff like that. Sometimes I do see it online, but exactly what I was telling you — everybody’s human and people go through stuff.”
