
Nigerian music superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke, a.k.a Davido marks his 33rd birthday today, with an outpouring of global tributes from fans and music lovers alike, celebrating a decade long career that has shaped and expanded the Afrobeats genre on an international scale, he has continually shattered boundaries in the global music scene.

One of Davido’s most notable milestones includes earning the first RIAA Gold certification for a Nigerian Afrobeats track with his 2017 hit single “If.” This achievement laid the groundwork for other African artists to break into international markets.

Davido also made history as the first solo Nigerian act to sell out London’s iconic O2 Arena, and his chart topping album “Timeless” reached No.1 on U.S. iTunes, showcasing his widespread appeal.
