Davido’s ‘A Good Time’ Reaches 1 Billion Streams on All Platforms
Afropop star Davido’s A Good Time album has hit one billion streams across all platforms.
The album, which was Davido’s first on Columbia UK and was also his sophomore album continues to amass accolades. Many singles off the album are certified platinum in South Africa and gold in the US respectively.
The album which Davido released in December 2019, featured guest appearances from Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Dremo, Peruzzi, Popcaan, Zlatan, Yonda, Wurld, and Naira Marley.
Davido also enlisted Speroach Beatz, Tekno, Shizzi, Kiddominant, P2J, London on da Track, Fresh VDM, Seyi, Teekay Witty, Ray Keys, and Vstix to produce the album.
A Good Time and two other singles, Blow my Mind featuring Chris Brown and Risky, have since gone platinum. The latter, which featured Jamaican dancehall act, Popcaan, went double platinum.
Also, the father of three was presented with a certification by Sony Music West Africa (SMWA); all after the three projects went platinum. The billion stream mark from A Good Time is the latest achievement from the “30 Billion Gang” boss.
It also comes in great stead for Davido’s eagerly anticipated third album, A Better Time. There is a lot of anticipation surrounding Davido’s new project; seeing as news outlets have spotted him in the studio with Hitboy and Nas.
