Uche Maduagwu, the controversial Nollywood actor, has openly criticised May Yul-Edochie for not publicly addressing the persistent online attacks targeted at her estranged husband, Yul Edochie.
In a recent Instagram post, Maduagwu expressed concern over May’s continued silence amid the wave of backlash Yul has faced on social media. According to him, while May cannot control the actions of every follower, she has a moral obligation to denounce the insults and discourage her supporters from ridiculing her husband.
He suggested that her refusal to intervene may be interpreted as silent approval of the derogatory comments, especially since the couple has not legally dissolved their marriage.
“The May Nation knows that their Queen May is still legally married to Yul Edochie, yet they come online and insult him, mock his name, and drag his family,” Maduagwu wrote. “Is that how you respect your Queen? Fear God.”
The actor further stated that although he doesn’t blame fans entirely for their behavior, he holds May accountable for not stepping up to correct them.

“I blame Queen May because you know you are still married to this man, yet you allow people to constantly insult, ridicule, and tear down his image online. Not once have you come out to say, ‘Please stop. He is still my husband. We are not divorced.’”
Maduagwu went on to challenge May to take a clear stand, either call out the insults or drop the Edochie surname altogether.
“If you’re not ready to tell your fans to stop insulting your husband, then you need to remove that name. People are starting to believe it’s the ‘Edochie’ name that’s bringing you endorsements and recognition,” he added. “I challenge you, Queen May prove to Nigerians that you’re a Christian woman who respects her marital vows. Tell your fans to stop mocking your husband.”
