Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has stirred a fresh wave of reactions on social media after posting a video of Judy Austin, the second wife of actor Yul Edochie, kneeling and pleading with veteran actor, Pete Edochie.
In the now-viral video, Judy is seen on her knees before the legendary Nollywood star, while her husband, Yul, stands besides her. Uche, who shared the video via his social media handle, claimed that despite public disapproval of the union between Yul and Judy, Pete Edochie has accepted her into the Edochie family.
“Sir Pete Edochie has ACCEPTED Judy into the great EDOCHIE Family. Please, let’s RESPECT his Decision,” Uche wrote. “Do I support how Judy scattered my Queen May’s beautiful marriage? No. But this great Legend has accepted her who are we to criticise him?”

Uche went on to criticise women who judge Judy harshly, questioning how many of them could confidently claim to have never dated a married man.
However, the video did not sit well with many social media users. A large number of netizens accused Uche of sharing an old clip from a movie set, suggesting the scene was not a real-life event but rather staged. Some questioned Uche’s intentions, implying he might have been paid to revive the controversy surrounding Yul Edochie’s marriage.

“You’re the one reopening old wounds. Everyone has moved on. May is doing really well. Let Yul and his family marry Judy in peace and leave May and her fans out of this,” one user wrote.
Others mocked the actor’s post, saying, “It was a movie set, Uche. Rest and bring us a new story.”
Amid the backlash, some referenced claims allegedly made by Leo Edochie, a relative of the Edochie family, who reportedly stated that Judy is not accepted in the family and that she should be disregarded.
Yul Edochie made headlines in April 2022 when he announced Judy Austin as his second wife and revealed the birth of their son, news that reportedly blindsided his first wife, May Edochie. The development ignited widespread public condemnation and created a significant rift within the once-admired Edochie family.
May, who married Yul in 2004 and shares four children with him, later filed for divorce, citing adultery. Her legal team emphasised that their marriage was under the Marriage Act, which prohibits polygamy. The court proceedings are ongoing, with custody and property issues yet to be resolved.
The family drama deepened in 2023 when the couple lost their first son, Kambilichukwu, a devastating incident that occurred just months after Yul publicly introduced Judy as his second wife.
Meanwhile, Yul and Judy have continued to build their relationship publicly, having welcomed two sons together. Yul has openly expressed his desire for a daughter with Judy and his willingness to “do anything” if she gives him one.
Despite the actor’s insistence that the Edochie patriarch has embraced Judy, the controversy surrounding the relationship shows no signs of fading, with many fans continuing to express their loyalty to May and skepticism toward the second union.
