Desist from making shoddy movies- Actor Chris Iheuwa urges filmmakers

Chris Iheuwa, a veteran Nigerian thespian has admonished filmmakers to desist from making shoddy movies.

Speaking at the Africa Movie Day event In Helsinki, Finland on Wednesday, the veteran moviemaker mentioned that it is pivotal for modern filmmakers to learn technical skills and release content that would exude professionalism.

Addressing content creators and filmmakers who release their movies via the video streaming platform YouTube, Iheuwa said, “Seasons are changing; therefore, when sh!t hits the fan, it is only moviemakers who are professional that will survive.”

He added, “When I watch a movie the first time and you don’t do a good job, I won’t watch it again. Hence, it’s important to do a good job and desist from shoddy work. Remember, there is something called reviews.”

Talking about Netflix’s decision to desist from investing in original movies, Iheuwa had this to say, “When you lose an investor, it hurts. One road doesn’t lead to the market, many routes does. What Netflix is losing, YouTube is gaining.”

He also commended the content creators and innovators film makers such as Omoni Oboli in his speech.
