Nigeria’s fast-rising Afrofuji singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, will be laid to rest today, January 23, 2026, at his father’s residence in Ayetoro Yewa, Ogun State.
The 22-year-old artist passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, under circumstances that raised widespread speculations and mourning in the music industry.

According to reports gathered, the young artiste took his last breath while being rushed to the hospital after suffering a sudden illness, with some mentioning he vomited blood and had a history of seizures linked to an undisclosed ailment that began nearly two years ago. A video which was released by a close friend of the late singer, caught the attention of netizens giving diverse reactions to the video. Confirming his ailment, Destiny boy’s mother noted that she was away of the illness and explained how it happens to her son.
Ogun State Police have launched a homicide investigation, arresting one suspect in connection with his passing amid tons lingering questions about the exact cause.
