The widow of late Nigerian Afrofuji singer Destiny Boy (Afeez Adesina) has publicly addressed accusations from her late husband’s family that she withdrew money from his bank accounts during his illness.
In a detailed response shared via social media and circulating widely, the woman, identified in reports as Iremide, denied using the funds for personal gain. “They keep accusing me of withdrawing my husband’s money. Did I use it to open a shop? What have I done for myself?” she asked.
She explained that her hair business collapsed while she focused on caring for him during his prolonged illness. “Now I’m doing tattoos for people, that was never even my work. My business went down and I kept quiet.”

The widow also revealed she endured spiritual attacks beginning when she was six months pregnant. “I carried that burden alone. I had no time for myself because I was focused on my husband’s recovery, hoping that once he was okay, I would be free too.”
She described the claims of theft while he was sick as deeply painful. “And now, after all of this, they are saying I was stealing his money while he was sick? Do you know how painful this is for me?”
The statement follows recent commentscomments from Destiny Boy’s sister and father, who said the family cannot access his locked phone or bank account. They claimed the singer changed his phone password after noticing withdrawals by his wife.
Destiny Boy died in January 2026 at age 22 after battling illness.
