Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers are expecting a relatively lenient sentence for their client, predicting a two-year prison term for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

This prediction falls short of the 51 to 63 months recommended by prosecutors. Combs’ attorneys have requested his release on a $1 million bond while awaiting sentencing, arguing that he is not a flight risk and poses no danger to the community.

However, prosecutors disagree, citing alleged misconduct while Combs was awaiting trial. They claim that Combs remains a danger to the community and should receive a harsher sentence.

The judge will ultimately determine Combs’ sentence, which could range from probation to 20 years in prison. Combs has already spent 10 months in custody and will receive credit for time served. His lawyers are pushing for a more lenient sentence.

Combs was convicted of transporting women across state lines for prostitution but acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The prosecution’s case relied heavily on testimony from several witnesses, including Combs’ former girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

The sentencing is set for October, and Combs’ lawyers are working to persuade the judge to impose a lenient sentence. They argue that Combs has cooperated with the authorities and has shown remorse for his actions. Prosecutors, on the other hand, are pushing for a harsher sentence, citing Combs’ alleged misconduct and the severity of the crimes.
