In a shocking development, lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye has withdrawn his services from representing May Edochie in her high-profile marital dispute with Nollywood actor Yul Edochie.

Ugwuonye cited relentless harassment and cyberbullying from May’s fans, known as “May Nation,” as the reason for his decision.

“The persistent bullying and trolling originating from Queen May’s presumed supporters present a severe operational and ethical challenge for DPA and our staff.”

Through his law firm, Due Process Advocates (DPA), Ugwuonye expressed frustration with the toxic environment created by some of May’s supporters, stating that it had become impossible to continue effective representation.

He revealed that his staff had suffered verbal abuse and online bullying, which was even worse than what they experienced from Yul Edochie’s camp.

Ugwuonye emphasised that while May’s troubles began with Yul and his alleged partner Judy, the aggressive online behavior of her followers had exacerbated the situation. He noted that May’s inability to influence this toxic faction among her supporters was incompatible with the level of investment required for DPA’s representation.

Despite his withdrawal, Ugwuonye described May as “a remarkable individual” and reiterated that she remains a victim of betrayal and forced polygamy. He also assured that DPA would cooperate fully with May’s next legal team.

Ugwuonye announced that DPA would pursue legal action against a prominent online troll from May’s camp, operating under the name “Judy Obasiyul Autism,” whose identity is still under investigation.
