In an Instagram story, she expressed relief about shedding these followers, likening it to overcoming a heavy burden and being able to connect with those who genuinely care for her.
Doja Cat’s follower count decreased after a dispute with her fanbase in July 2023.
She had criticized her fans for adopting the term “kittens,” which she initially used to refer to them at the start of her career.
This led to a public exchange where she expressed frustration with her followers, and it resulted in a significant drop in her Instagram followers.
She had lost 237,758 followers in just two days due to the incident.
The loss continued to increase, reaching about 500,000 followers. Despite the loss, Doja Cat appears to find solace in the idea of connecting with her true supporters.
