Dr. Dre’s Estranged Wife Investigated for Embezzlement

Dr. Dre‘s estranged wife, Nicole Young is under investigation for stealing funds from the rapper’s business account amid the couple’s $1billion divorce battle.

According to TMZ, Larry Chatman, Dre‘s business partner filed a report with the Los Angeles police department on Tuesday alleging that Young withdrew $385,000 from the business account without authorization.

Young, who had filed for divorce from Dre in June this year had earlier claimed in proceedings that she was entitled to the money since she was a trustee of the account.

Chatman‘s attorneys however, stated that she had no legal access to the funds because her name was removed after the first withdrawal.

Last month, Dre and his legal team last month contacted Young and her team; demanding she returns the money or face legal action.

While the Los Angeles Police is currently investigating the case, Bryan Freedman, Young‘s lawyer; described the move as ‘a clear attempt to smear Nicole’s name’. She added that she was authorized to withdraw the cash amid the marital split.

With two adult kids from their union, the couple’s split would be coming after 24 years of their marriage; having tied the knot in 1996 following Young’s split from Sedale Threatt, an NBA player.
