Dubai Government Denies R. Kelly’s Claim of Booked Concerts

Dubai authorities have responded to R. Kelly’s claims that he is billed to perform in their country.

Recall that the disgraced singer currently isn’t allowed to leave the state of Illinois following a bond hearing he had last month, but his lawyer Steve Greenberg filed a motion for his travel request on a hearing last week, saying that Kelly was scheduled for a series of concerts.

Well, Associated Press has now published a report which says that Dubai’s government confirmed that there was never any plans for a series of R. Kelly concerts in their country.

“Authorities in Dubai have not received any request for a performance by singer R. Kelly nor are there any venues that have been booked,” Dubai’s government said in a statement. His lawyer reportedly also said that Kelly was scheduled to meet with the Dubai royal family, although they have denied the claims, stating that he “has not been invited by the Dubai royal family for a performance.”

The singer’s team are yet to respond to this as at press time.
