Ed Sheeran Welcomes First Child With Wife

British singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran, has welcomed his first child with his wife Cherry Seaborn.

The Thinking Out Loud singer made the birth announcement on  his Instagram page on Tuesday, writing that their daughter, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeranwas was born last week.

Photos shared with the birth announcement shows the baby’s blanket and socks. Ed Sheeran also stated that his family would be needing privacy at the moment.

“Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran,” he wrote on Instagram.

“We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.

Ed, 29, and hockey player Cherry, 26, who previously starred in England’s under 21 started dating officially in 2015. In January 2018, the singer and Seaborn, at school when they were 11, and announced their engagement on Instagram after three years of dating.

Ed Sheeran had announced his engagement last January on Instagram, writing: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well.”

Shortly after, it was rumoured that the couple had wedded secretly in 2019 which the singer later confirmed in a recent interview.
