The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has appointed former Big Brother Naija housemate Tega Dominic as Special Adviser on Sexual Harassment to the guild’s president.
The official appointment, detailed in a letter from AGN leadership and widely shared online, positions Tega, a well-known actress who rose to prominence during the 2021 “Shine Ya Eye” edition of BBNaija to lead efforts in tackling sexual misconduct within the Nigerian acting community.
Tega will be responsible for formulating anti-harassment policies, promoting education and awareness campaigns, creating accessible reporting systems, and advocating for safer on-set and professional environments for guild members in film, television, and stage productions.
Tega shared her excitement and sense of duty on Instagram, thanking the guild for the opportunity and describing the role as a chance to effect real, positive impact in an industry where such issues have long been discussed but often inadequately addressed.
The appointment arrives at a time when calls for stronger protections against sexual harassment in Nollywood and broader Nigerian entertainment continue to grow louder.
The Guild also appoint her colleague Boma Akpore and the Director of communications. Boma who is also from her set in Biggie’s house took to Instagram to appreciate the organization for entrusting him the new role and shared his certificate of appointment online. Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to congratulate both on their new roles with the AGN.
