Falz to Buhari: Allow Entertainers Get Back to Business

Falz Discusses Need to Advance #EndSARS Protest

Popular rapper and social commentator, Falz has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to allow entertainers to get back to business.

In a series of tweets in the late hours of Monday, August 17, 2020, the Bop Daddy lyricist said as different sectors of the economy which were shutdown due to the raging COVID-19, are now opening, the entertainment sector should also be considered.

He wrote, “The entertainment industry must be allowed to gradually get back in business!! Let’s start with cinemas reopening with all safety precautions in place.”

While noting that his colleagues in the industry have not been earning since the shutting down of the entertainment sector, Falz took a swipe at the Buhari-led administration for allowing political rallies and clearly neglecting all safety precautions.

“Right now, we don’t see anything but a government that contributes little or nothing to its creative sector and continues to attempt to stifle the sector in every way.

“Thousands of people have been left without any way to earn for several months.

“Let’s not even start to talk about all the videos that have surfaced of political rallies happening, clearly neglecting all safety precautions.

“Restaurants have reopened, airlines have been operating, places of worship have also been permitted to reopen,” he added.
