Nigerian musician and activist Falz has expressed his frustration over the recent releases of kidnapped individuals, citing a lack of transparency and accountability in the government’s efforts to combat terrorism.
In a video shared on Instagram, Falz questioned the effectiveness of the Military’s operations, highlighting the need for a public hearing to address the issue.

According to Falz, “There was no mention of any arrest made, no mention of whether any ransom was paid, no mention of anyone being apprehended and brought to book. This does not cut it.” He emphasised that mere social media posts and hashtags are insufficient, urging Nigerians to take action by contacting their representatives and senators to demand a public hearing.

Falz stressed the importance of transparency in military funding, stating, “So many billions are being budgeted and released for acquisition of arms and ammunitions. For what’s happening? Why is the military still ill-equipped? Why are military convoys still ambushed by the criminals? Why was an army general murdered on video?” He called for a public hearing to be broadcast live on television, allowing citizens to hold their leaders accountable.
Falz urged Nigerians to join him in demanding accountability, saying, “Every citizen needs to call, text, WhatsApp, email, bombard your reps and senators with messaging.” He emphasized the need for a unified message to pressure the government into taking action.
The musician’s call to action comes amidst concerns over the effectiveness of the military’s efforts to secure the country.
