Pastor Segun Arole of Holy Holy Church has explained the reason behind the sudden cancellation of the burial arrangements for late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi.
As earlier reported by eelive.ng, the Burial Planning Committee announced on last week Tuesday that all plans for the singer’s burial had been called off.
The statement read:“This is to inform the general public that all plans and arrangements for the burial of our late sister and colleague, Lady Evangelist Bunmi Akinnaanu a.k.a. Omije Ojumi, by the Burial Planning Committee have been totally cancelled. This decision became necessary due to issues arising from and within her family. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused.”
Reacting to the development, Pastor Arole disclosed that gospel artistes had initially met and agreed on burial arrangements after the family provided a burial date. He revealed that fellow gospel singer Alayo had already paid for the coffin and cemetery.
However, complications arose when the family allegedly stopped responding to calls from the artistes.

“Suddenly, the family stopped picking calls from the artistes. Now the family is calling again for burial arrangements, but the artistes are no longer interested,” Arole said.
He appealed for forgiveness and unity, urging all parties involved to put differences aside for the sake of the late singer.
“Please, for the sake of Bunmi, forgive her family and let her have a befitting burial,” he added.
Nigerians on social media have reacted to Segun Arole’s statement, as they plead with the artistes support her burial arrangements again.
One user wrote: “Please let her rest.”
Another user: “Family and wahala.”
One user added: “This man of God is indeed in the spirit , may God continue to increase your anointing sir.”
