A viral video of married Nollywood actors, Bolaji Ogunmola and Daniel Etim kissing deeply in a scene from her YouTube movie, Summer Rain, has sparked outrage on social media.
In the scene seen by eelive.ng, Ogunmola was seen passionately kissing Nollywood, Daniel Etim. This particular scene has gathered millions of views on X and has provoked numerous reactions and think pieces from social media users.
Some commentators mentioned that they wouldn’t allow their partners to engage in romantic scenes, or they would avoid choosing someone who is in the movie industry. The conversation about romance and intimacy in Nollywood films brought up various interesting perspectives from netizens.

One user condemned the kissing role saying, “This isn’t acting. You guys can pretend it is but it’s not. Why’s he touching her breast? Was that part of the script too? Plus the kissing is too deep please. What will they remain for their partners at home?”
Another user who supported the actors wrote: “But you people know that this kiss is strictly between the characters, right? I see you all giving your “2 cents” about what their real partners would think about this.It is called “acting” for a reason.”
Another X user @fheytii says “They’re actors for a reason that’s their profession and that’s the thing that comes with it.”
One user wrote: “This guy is becoming annoying at this point. Why is a married man always in these romantic movies?”
Another X user went further, claiming Etim’s wife Toyosi has “valid reasons to crash out,” while others insisted that no spouse would be comfortable watching their partner kiss this passionately on camera.

Bolaji also reacted to a fan who asked, “Can you allow your husband kiss another woman like this in the name of acting maaa let’s be realistic oooo you sef be woman,” and she sarcastically replied: “Me??? Never!!!! Let him stay home and not do his job!!! We can all starve!!! Especially when I know what he does for a living from jump. He’s staying home!!!!”
Before now, Etim-Effiong has been heavily criticised for his romantic roles, saying producers often include kissing scenes because “that’s what sells.”
He added that he prays before shooting such scenes and maintains personal boundaries anchored by his faith and family.
His wife, Toyosi Etim-Effiong, has repeatedly stated that her husband’s on-screen intimacy does not bother her.
