Popular Nigerian singer, Victor Okafor, also known as Mr. Real, has opened up on the regrets he has about his hit song Legbegbe which was released in 2017.

The artiste said in a new interview that some of the decisions he made at the time stopped him from reaching his full potential in the music industry.

Speaking on Hip TV Trending, Mr. Real disclosed that he regretted featuring fellow artiste, Idowest, on Legbegbe. According to him, the song would have been much bigger if he had released it as a solo project.

He explained that doing the record alone would have placed him on the same level with some of the country’s biggest stars like Wizkid and Burna Boy.

In his words: “I regret bringing Idowest into that song. I wish I had sung that song alone. If I had sung it alone, I’d be on the same level as Burna Boy and Wizkid.”

Mr. Real further revealed that a planned remix with Wizkid did not happen. He said the remix, which could have boosted the song’s reach both locally and internationally, was cancelled because of issues allegedly connected to veteran singer D’banj.

He stated that if the remix had worked out, Legbegbe would have gone far beyond Nigeria and given his career more recognition around the world.

The singer maintained that even though Legbegbe brought him fame, he could not fully benefit from its success because of the decisions made during its rollout.
