Prominent Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo, and Fuji singer Wasiu Ayinde, better known as Kwam1 or K1 De Ultimate, broke down in tears following the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
In the video that surfaced on social media, Adebayo paid an emotional tribute to the late actor during the premiere of King Kosoko, which was held on Sunday, August 23rd.
“It is actually very sad, extremely sad. Uncle Tawio was a great man. He was a really great man. He fought and fought. I am sorry,” he said.
Also, Kwam 1, while performing at an event, broke down in tears after learning of the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The Fuji singer became emotional and stopped his performance. He stepped away from the stage and used his handkerchief to wipe his tears.
It would be recalled that Ogogo died on Sunday at the age of 66 after battling stage four cancer. His daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced his death during an emotional Instagram Live session.
The actor’s death came less than a week after his family disclosed that he was suffering from stage four cancer and appealed to medical professionals and hospitals for assistance.
His death was also confirmed by veteran actor Jide Kosoko, who announced that the actor’s remains would be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State.
A lying-in-state ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Pavilion in Ilaro on Monday, ahead of his burial according to Islamic rites.
Ogogo was born on October 31, 1959, in Ilaro, Ogun State. He became known for his work in Yoruba language films and had a career spanning more than four decades.
