
Award-winning Nigerian actor Femi Adebayo is set to take the lead role in an upcoming 2026 historical film titled King Kosoko, a production that promises to bring an important chapter of Yoruba history to the big screen.
The film tells the story of 19th-century monarch Oba Kosoko, exploring powerful themes of leadership, legacy and resistance during a turbulent period in history.
By dramatising the life and reign of the iconic ruler, the project aims to shed light on cultural heritage and the political struggles that shaped his era.

King Kosoko features an ensemble cast of notable Nollywood actors, including Jide Kosoko, Femi Branch, Faithia Williams, Gabriel Afolayan and Odunlade Adekola. Their involvement is expected to add depth and star power to the historical drama.
