Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele has warned UK fans to stop uploading behind‑the‑scenes clip online, stressing that the previews are promoting leaks rather than building hype.

Funke Akindele took to her Instagram story to express frustration over the actions of some UK fans who attended the premiere of her upcoming film Behind The Scene.
According to the award-winning filmmaker, clips from the exclusive screening have surfaced online, with fans sharing scenes meant to remain private until the official release.
In her post, she said: “UK fans that have watched Behind The Scene premiere, can you stop posting it online?
“I spent over a billion on that project. You’re not helping, you’re promoting piracy.”

Akindele stressed that while she appreciates the support, leaking parts of the film compromises the hard work and massive budget put into the production.
She urged fans to allow Nigerian audiences enjoy the full cinematic experience when the film officially debuts in theatres.

Behind The Scene is set for release in Nigerian cinemas on December 12, 2025, and has already built massive anticipation. As one of the most expensive Nollywood projects of the year, the film is expected to break box office records, especially with Akindele’s track record of successful releases like Battle on Buka Street and A Tribe Called Judah and Everybody Loves Jennifa.
