Gabriel Agbonlahor Lauds Father for Single-handedly Raising him, Siblings Following Mother’s Absence

Former English footballer, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has taken to the social media platform, Instagram, to write about his Nigerian father.

In an emotional post on the photo-sharing app, Instagram, Agbonlahor, who played for the English football club, Aston Villa, stated that his father raised him and his three other siblings. He mentioned that his mother left the family when he was only 3, leaving the responsibility of raising the children all to his father.

On Instagram, Agbonlahor, who is now a father of four, wrote, “Short story: my mom left me and my siblings when I was 3 years old and never even sent a birthday card for the rest of my life.”

In the concluding part of his Father’s Day post, Agbonlahor mentioned that he owes everything to his father, who raised him.

He added, “This man didn’t leave me, he raised 4 kids on his own until re-marrying. I owe him a lot, and he taught me how to be a good dad. Love you, Dad, happy Father’s Day.”
