Prayer is key — Genevieve Nnaji tells fans

Nollywood superstar Genevieve Nnaji is urging people to pray more. In a series of messages posted on her Insta stories, she highlights the importance of prayers. According to her, the absence of prayers can have dire consequences.

Nnaji writes: “Your path to greatness is often altered by those who have derailed from theirs. They derail so far that they collide with you, forcing you off your trail.”

“This is why prayer is key. Pray for the wisdom to recognise these obstacles as obstructions that they are to avoid going down with them,” she adds.

The “Lionheart” star urges her fans to pray for wisdom. In another story she adds, “This is why prayer is key. Prayer for the wisdom to recognise these obstacles as the obstructions that they are to avoid going down with them.”

“In hindsight, it pays to pray for others. That they may focus on themselves and remain on their path to greatness. Misery loves company,” she adds in a separate story.

Nnaji spewed some intense words of wisdom with the stories. “Those who don’t want good for themselves wouldn’t want good for you. When we are on similar journeys to achieving our goals, our meetings would not be a collision. It would be destiny,” she adds.

The Nollywood star seems to be spending her time abroad these days. She took what seems like a long break from acting in mainstream Nigerian movies. Before releasing Lionheart in 2018, she starred in Half of Yellow Sun alongside Hollywood’s Chiwetel Ejiofor in 2013.

In 2015, Nnaji also gave a stellar performance in Road to Yesterday which was written by her. The 42-year-old mother of one has been a force to reckon with in Nollywood till date.

In more recent news, Eelive reported that Nnaji joined the cast of the adaptation of the famed Broadway musical “FELA!”. The show is set to premiere on Clubhouse at 2 pm and 6 pm today and tomorrow.

In 2020, Nnaji was also announced as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). The AMPAS is the voting body of the Oscars.
