Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved financial assistance to help offset part of the medical expenses of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu, following growing concern over her deteriorating health.
The intervention was announced by actor and singer Justice Okechukwu Martins, popularly known as JMartins, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Tourism and Entertainment.
Sharing the update via his social media page, JMartins disclosed that Governor Otti personally authorised the release of funds to cover a portion of the actress’s hospital bills.
Describing the governor’s gesture as timely and compassionate, JMartins thanked Otti for responding to the plight of one of Nollywood’s respected veterans. However, he explained that the financial support is only the first step, as Nwosu’s treatment costs remain substantial.

He called on well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organisations, and members of the entertainment industry to contribute towards the actress’s ongoing medical care, stressing that additional assistance is urgently needed to ensure she receives the treatment required for a full recovery.
News of Nwosu’s health condition had earlier sparked concern among fans and colleagues, with many taking to social media to pray for her and appeal for support. Widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s finest actresses, Nwosu has entertained audiences for decades with memorable performances in film and television.
