Grammy 2020: Alicia Keys to Return as Host

Alicia Keys is one undeniable talent. The “Girl on Fire” singer is returning as the host of the 2020 Grammy Awards for the second time in a row.

Keys hosted the awards show for the first time in 2019. She will become the third woman and the first female star to host the award twice. Keys has won 15 Grammy awards beginning in 2001 with her debut album, Songs in A Minor, and is second only to Paul Simon, as the Grammys host with the most trophies.

During the last awards, she thrilled the audience by playing two pianos at the same time and brought them to tears during her opening monologue. Her stellar performance left the audience in awe.

At first, I did think last year was a one-time thing, but when the opportunity came back around, there was no question about returning as host,” Keys said, “Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world, and it confirmed the unifying power of music.”

Recording Academy President Deborah Dugan said in a statement, “From best new artiste recipient to Grammy Award host, Alicia Keys has been a beacon of artistry within the music community for more than two decades.

Last year was a testament to her compelling creativity.”

Furthermore, she said that it’s thrilling to have her return. The 2020 Grammy’s will be the last time long time producer Ken Ehrlich, with “Late late Show With James Corden”, will oversee the award show.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will air on Jan. 26, 2020 on CBS.
