A woman identified as Amarachi Chinyere has spoken out following the viral assault incident that led to the arrest of Agwu Ukpo, alleging that the attack occurred after she rejected his sexual advances.
In a video shared by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, Amarachi recounted the events that allegedly led to the violent confrontation and called on authorities to ensure justice is served.
Speaking in Pidgin English, she claimed that Ukpo had approached her with a sexual proposition, offering her money in exchange for a relationship. However, she said she rejected the offer because she is married.
She said:“One day, that boy asked me, he say he wan f**k me. I tell am say no. He say he go give me N50,000. I tell am no, say I don marry,”
Amarachi further explained that tensions between them escalated after a disagreement involving food. According to her, Ukpo allegedly poured away a soup she had prepared by emptying it into a plate used for washing hands. She said she reported the incident to his brother, Obinna.
She continued:“I go market go buy something to cook. I cook finish, he con commot go buy indomie come, he con carry that my soup pour am inside washing hand plate, I con tell him brother Obinna.”
She claimed that a few days later, she responded by placing some leftover soup prepared by Ukpo in the same location where he had disposed of hers. However, she said Obinna intervened and discouraged her from continuing the dispute.
Amarachi alleged that the situation later turned violent after Ukpo accused her of insulting him and threatened to beat her. She said when she questioned the threat, he allegedly attacked her.
She said: “The boy con dey shout say I dey insult am, say he go beat me one day. I tell am say you go beat me, wetin I do you. He con hold me for that place, con dey beat. He hit me for back, he dey hit my eye, he dey hit me for chest”.

She also claimed that another individual who was recording the incident repeatedly pleaded with the suspect to stop the assault, but his appeals were ignored.
She added: “The boy wey dey do video, he dey say leave this girl alone, this girl no do you anything, he no mind the boy, he con dey beat me. My body don weak, the boy from fence con run”.
Calling for justice, Amarachi urged law enforcement authorities to prosecute the suspect and compensate her family for the medical expenses incurred as a result of the alleged attack.
She said: “I want justice. I want police people carry am go court. All the money wey my husband spend, he go pay back”.

Meanwhile, the Abia State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the 37-year-old suspect on Thursday.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing, while Ukpo could face charges including assault and attempted murder if sufficient evidence is established.
