Segun Arole, pastor of Holy Holy Church, has spoken about the health challenges late Yoruba gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu, popularly known as Taye Adegbodu and one half of the Adegbodu Twins, faced before his death.

As previously reported by eelive.ng, the 37-year-old singer passed away in the early hours of March 1, 2026, after battling an unusual illness for several weeks.

Reacting to speculation surrounding the singer’s death, Prophet Arole described it as a significant loss to the music industry and cautioned against spreading unfounded claims.

Taye Adegbodu

“Taiwo Adegbodu’s death is a big loss to the music industry. Fake prophets should stop saying he was killed. He had something he was nursing in his body before his demise. Many of these singers you see are dealing with one health issue or another. Singers should always go for medical check-ups before climbing the stage,” he said.

He stressed the physical demands of performing and urged artists to prioritise their health over financial pursuits.

“You use so much strength to sing. Everybody will die one day. Don’t just chase money; please take good care of your body. Taiwo was a very talented singer. If you don’t feel well, go straight to the hospital, not the church. May God rest his soul,” Arole added.
