
Nollywood actress Lillian Afegbai has shared how she secured the role of Idia in Kemi Adetiba’s movie ‘To Kill a Monkey.’
The actress while sharing her story on Instagram, spoke on how she has been acting for years but has been underrated and felt not seen or heard. In her words: “Una know say I don dey this industry, I’ve been acting since I was in university and that’s like since 2009, my first movie was with Jim Iyke, Mary Njoku that time. I don dey but i never really dey you know how you don dey but people never really see you feel you.”

Moving forward, the actress described the whole process as grace of God and right timing. She shared how she had met with a friend with the name ‘Collect’ years ago and asked for help to link her up with Kemi and boost her career as she was at a point of giving up.
Replying to her humble request, Collect said it was not the right thing to do as she believed in her-Lillian. “Collect said ‘I have never influenced her- Kemi Adetiba- casting, she needs to feel you, she needs to watch you as she is driven by her creativity. But Lillian one thing I can tell you is keep doing what you do, she will find you.”

Talking about a stumbling block she crossed part with, Afegbai noted how Adetiba’s team had reached out to her months before her friend Grace called her to inform her Kemi Adetiba needed her to audition for the role. The actress opening up on how Kemi Adetiba discovered her, revealing that the talented movie director while taking a time off work, decided to go on Instagram and explored on her fyp (for you page) and stumbled on a video Afe posted. Marveled by Afegbai’s mode of talking, she then picked interest in her but needed to be professional and left the work for her team to reach out to her.
The actress recounts that God’s mercy and grace located her at the right time and is ready to live the new chapter to the fullest while delivering her roles in movies well.
