Between Deyemi Okanlawon and I- Jimmy Odukoya
Nollywood actor, Jimmy Odukoya, has opened up on his relationship with popular actor Deyemi Okanlawon.
It’s hard not to notice the bubbling relationship between the two actors. Though many might have assumed that the pair have been friends since childhood.
But in a recent interview with actress and presenter, Ireti Doyle, the pastor and AMVCA nominated actor revealed that he became close friends with Okanlawon during the COVID-19 lockdown last year.
He described the actor as a “driven and focused person” who has made a positive impact in his life in a short while.
“I met Deyemi in 2016 while I was on Gidi Up season 3 set, and ever since then, we would run into each other and promise to talk but we never did.
“We both met again at a read aloud and chatted a bit. Later that day, I went live on Instagram and he joined, we started talking for hours, it became a vigil. We spoke for about five hours and after we got off my live, we went on to speak for two hours till about 6am.”
Speaking on why he decided to be friends with the actor, he said: “Our thought process are the same. We are aligned and we see things in a certain kind of way. He is one of those driven focused people. He challenges you to be better.
“We met in a short period of time, during the lockdown and he has become one of my closest friends. I trust him with anything and everything.”

Last year June, the duo alongside singer Iyanya decided to become street hawkers for a day.
Jimmy Odukoya, hawked boiled groundnuts while Okanlawon sold garden eggs.
In the end, the trio stated that it was a humbling moment and an eye-opener for each of them as they experienced what people go through daily to make ends meet.
