How my past trauma made me difficult to love- Toke Makinwa

Toke Makinwa, Nigerian Media Personality, says she once battled with trauma.

Makinwa, taking to her InstaStories on Sunday, expressed gratitude to God for not giving up on her.

The TV host added that past trauma had made her difficult to love. 

She said, “I’m just so thankful that God did not give up on me even when my past trauma made me difficult to love. He saw through my broken still. I shudder to think of where I will be if God left me. He saved the best for last.”

Toke is known for hosting The Morning Drive on Rhythm 93.7 FM and for her YouTube vlog series Toke Moments. She is one of the top 5 African female show hosts.

Makinwa has hosted numerous notable events; including the 2013 Future and City People Awards, as well as the 2014 Headies Awards.

She released her book On Becoming in November 2016.

In March 2021, Toke Makinwa was announced alongside with Nollywood actress, Nancy Isime to host the third season of The Voice Nigeria. 

On October 16, 2021 Toke Makinwa was unveiled as the host of Gulder Ultimate Search Season 12.
