A Nigerian man has shared a heart-wrenching story about his cousin, who ended her five-year marriage after discovering her husband’s infidelity and lost it completely to pride.
Despite the man’s pleas for forgiveness and promises to change, she stood firm, citing that she deserved better.
He wrote: “My cousin ended her five year marriage the day she found out her husband cheated we all begged her to think twice to calm down before walking away but she was done she packed her things, took her two kids and left.”

“For a year the man went from one relative to another begging for forgiveness he apologised and promised to change he did everything a repentant man would do but she stood firm I deserve better she said.“
On X (formerly Twitter), the man recounted she later started a new life, but her subsequent relationships were unsuccessful.
”She got her own place, started afresh and later met a married man who treated her well. For a while it looked like she had found peace until his wife showed up one morning and scattered everything.” He stated that after the incident, the man disappeared leaving his cousin humiliated however not long after, she met another man but things lasted for a while before he also absconded due to financial issues.
“Then came an Alhaji who promised marriage but only if she sent her sons back to their father he said he could not raise another man’s children she ended it right there,” noting her third failed attempt to start a new relationship.
Three years after the last breakup, she considered reconciling with her ex-husband. However, when she visited his home, a pregnant woman opened the door, revealing that he had moved on.
The man concluded that “life does not always give you a second chance” and that “sometimes pride takes worth pain.” He stated that ten years after his cousin is all alone and the children are with their father and step mother.
