How your #MCMs celebrated Father’s Day 2021

Father’s Day 2021, was a celebration of fathers and to honour fatherhood, paternal bonds and the role fathers play in society. With many COVID-19 restrictions lifted, dads went back to big barbecues and special days with their families. Nigerian celebrities were no different. Eelive gives you a glimpse into how they marked their day and some of the beautiful posts they shared.

Gbenro Ajibade, a Nigerian actor, model and presenter, spent the day celebrating his little princess, who turned 5.

When singers Simi and Adekunle Gold had their first child, a viral videos went round the internet showing Gold singing a touching song to his infant daughter. To mark this special day, the new father shared another video of himself singing to his daughter. He wrote excitedly: “My mom sent me a ‘Happy Father’s Day’ card on WhatsApp this morning, and it hit different. Like, I am really someone’s dad!!!! Omo!”

Singer and politician Banky Wellington shared intimate photographs of his marriage so far with his wife, actress Adesua. He also penned a touching note in the caption. Being his first Father’s Day celebration, he received various gifts from his loved ones, including cupcakes and engraved cufflinks, and a necklace. They had the words “Papa Z” on them, proudly proclaiming that he is now a father.

Comedian Bovi’s pun-filled post showed a picture of his two children sitting and clinging to his legs. He captioned it “Testicles”.

Rapper Vector posted beautiful images that would make any father sweet with pride. As a true lyricist, he also topped it up with a very touching note. In addition to this, he shared a video on his Insta stories dedicated to all his “sons in the rap game”.

Father’s Day 2021

Like many others, comedian Basketmouth shared photos of himself and his children in a series of posts. He credited them as the reason why he grinds so hard.

Record producer Don Jazzy, although not yet a father, teasingly called on all those who look up to him as a father figure to celebrate him on the special day.

Comedian Ushbebe extended greetings to all the other fathers who he could reach virtually. In his post, he wished them all a happy Father’s Day.
