I Am Not The Real Owner of Demolished Showroom – Ola Of Lagos Finally Opens Up

Social media influencer and car dealer, Ola of Lagos, Waris Olayinka Akinwande, has taken to social media to clarify the ownership of the recently demolished car showroom by the Lagos State Government.

The demolition, eelive.ng understands that was revealed in a viral TikTok video by car dealer Ibilo last week. In the video that has become a growing sensation, the remains of the demolished property could be seen as Ibilo captioned: “Lagos State Government Demolishes OOL Autos. Heavy one today.”

Reacting, many people sympathised with the influencer, with claims suggesting that the facility was owned by the influencer known for showcasing high-end automobiles online.

However, Nigerian company, Skyewise Group, via a statement clarified that the demolished property was solely owned by firm, adding that only a section of the premises had been leased to Ola of Lagos for car hire operations and luxury vehicle displays.

All necessary building approvals, operational permits, dealership licenses, and environmental levies for the property were duly obtained from the Lagos State Government,” the statement partly reads

Speaking, Ola of Lagos via Instagram on Friday affirmed that he never claimed ownership of the showroom.

He said: “I need to clear the confusion circulating on the social media concerning the demolition of my car lot. I never claimed I was the owner of the property of the skywise group. I only leased a section for my business. The Lagos State Government demolished the building because some safety precautions were not taken, not that I was targeted.”
