As of the filing of this report, the Lagos State Government has not issued any official statement on the demolition, leaving the reason for the action unconfirmed.

However, while many people sympathised with him, others said he brought the situation upon himself by building directly beneath a high-tension power line in violation of Nigeria’s safety and urban development laws in the state.
In a recent post on his Instagram stories, Akinwande shared that throughout his life, he has experienced many losses. He mentioned that one of these losses was significant enough that it could have allowed him to purchase a four-bedroom apartment in the upscale area of Ikoyi, Lagos.
‘‘I have been chesting losses for a long time..losses that will comfortably get me a 4 Bedroom apartment in Ikoyi but I am good.
“Everyman you see out there is going through one or two trust me.. no matter how wealthy, famous or whatever.. but what do you do? Keep going,” he added.

He also thanked the general public for their support during these difficult times.
