Stanley Omah Didian, Afrobeats sensation, popularly known as Omah Lay, has boldly proclaimed himself the greatest artist of his generation.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, the Soso crooner acknowledged that while he may not have concrete proof just yet, the evidence will come with time.
“Hi guys! My name is Omah Lay and I am the greatest of my generation. I don’t have proofs right now but there will be a lot in the future. Thanks. Yours truly, Boy Alone,” he wrote.
This isn’t the first time the singer has spoken confidently about his artistic journey and future. In a 2023 interview with The Beat FM in London, Omah Lay shared his belief that he is one of the emerging leaders of the new Afrobeats era.
He also revealed that he had developed a “new sound” he intends to popularise globally, further cementing his ambition to redefine the genre.
With a growing fan base and hit songs under his belt, Omah Lay continues to position himself as a voice of the new wave in Afrobeats.

Some months back, the singer was involved in a car accident in Lagos.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, reportedly involved two Tesla trucks linked to the artiste.
The incident came to light after UK-based music executive, Adesope Olajide, aka Shopsydoo, shared a video of the wrecked vehicles on Instagram on Saturday.
#Omahlay got into an accident last night. Thank God he is safe, we go buy two more once that album drops … more stories to tell,” he wrote.
Omah Lay, who gained fame with hits like “Bad Influence,” “Soso,” and “Understand,” is one of Nigeria’s most streamed young artistes globally.
