Mr Macaroni, a popular comedian and activist has criticised the admission of error by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which affected thousands of candidates.
It would be recalled that JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, took responsibility for the errors while apologising to the candidates.
The oversight, according to the JAMB Registrar, regrettably went undetected prior to the release of the results.

Oloyede stated that following the outcry of Nigerians about the results, the Board, together with other stakeholders, worked rigorously and within 24 hours was able to isolate where the problem emanated from.
“It happened in 65 centers in Lagos and 92 centers in Owerri zone. In these centers, the patch was not properly applied in some center servers by the service provider, and that failure disrupted the upload of the candidates’ responses within the first three or four days, as applicable to Lagos and Owerri zones.
“The 2025 UTME that could have been our finest yet, were it not for the carelessness, negligence, and lack of concern exhibited by the agents entrusted with this crucial yet straightforward function,” he lamented.
Oloyede therefore announced the rescheduling of another examination for 379,997 candidates who were affected by the error, which were mostly in Lagos and the five states of the South East.
“We have decided that all the candidates affected in the 157 centers out of 882 centers will be contacted to retake their examinations starting from Friday, May 16, 2025,” he said.
Oloyede added that the affected candidates would start getting text messages from the Board starting Thursday.
“These candidates are to be contacted through text messages addressed to their registered phone numbers, their email addresses, their profiles, and phone calls by JAMB. They are directed to reprint their Examination Slips for the rescheduled examination dates,” he said.
Reacting, the activist, expressed frustration on X, formerly Twitter, about the examination body’s incompetence and irresponsibility.
He said: “I still can’t believe this level of incompetence and irresponsibility laced with total lack of regard for all those affected. This can only happen in a country where there are no consequences for actions! We as a people have become so comfortable with accepting rubbish!!!”
